The Sage’s Insight

Folks had a habit of seeking out the wise man to share their recurring troubles. One day, he decided to break the pattern and shared a joke with them, which elicited hearty laughter from the crowd.

A few minutes later, he repeated the very same joke, yet this time, only a handful of people managed a smile.

When he recounted the joke for a third time, not a single laugh could be heard.

The wise man, wearing a knowing grin, addressed the assembly, saying, “You see, you can’t find the same joke amusing each time. So, why do you persist in shedding tears over the same predicament?”
